Greetings!
It appears that The Commons is getting plenty of visitors but very few posters. The whole purpose of this forum is to communicate: Get back in touch with old classmates, find missing classmates, discuss upcoming reunions, etc. If there is no posting, The Commons is not serving its purpose. So I thought I would give you the simple "1, 2, 3's" on posting:
1) Before you can post, you have to register. Just click on the "Register" button at the top of this page. Input a little information - a username to log in with, a password, how you want your name to appear, etc - basic stuff. You can add additional information later, including your photo to appear beside your posts.
2) Once you register, you can post. Look up at the row of buttons under "The Commons" logo (Home, Help, Search, etc). This is your MAIN MENU. Just below that is a brown bar that reads "The Commons" › News From The Administrator › NOTICE: How To Post To "The Commons" > It's Not As Complicated At It Looks.... This is your TOPIC MENU. Remember this part.
3) We've created several topics to get things started. Some contain general information (like this one), while others are for you to respond to. For example, you want to read and respond to the topic "2010 All-Class Reunion." Just click on the topic title, and you will find a list of Subjects pertaining to that topic. You can either read and reply to the subjects listed, or you can add another subject of your own so long as it pertains to the 2010 Reunion topic. To reply to an existing subject, just click the "Reply" button (Duh!). You can change the subject line if you so desire. To start a new subject, look up to your TOPIC MENU, click on "2010 All-Class Reunion" to get back to the Subject page, and click on the "Start New Topic" button. Viola! That's it!
If you have any questions or problems, don't hesitate to contact me. We want "The Commons" to work...but it won't work without you!
Cheers! Andy
